Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED – Active Hearing Protection with Gel Seals and Light
When you need light quickly in the field, on your vehicle, or in a dark shooting lane, you don't want to be searching for your headlamp.
The Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED combines the proven Pro-X with an integrated LED and standard gel seals.
This isn't a gimmick when you're checking equipment in the dark, looking for cartridges, working quietly in a high seat, or need both hands free during training.

Why this product?
The Pro-X LED is worthwhile if you want the comfort of the Pro-X with gel seals and actually use the small work light.
- You get gel seals without an additional upgrade
- You have immediate light for quick tasks in the dark
- You remain communicative and protected
- You save yourself from searching for a flashlight for short tasks
- You get the proven Pro-X as a comfort-oriented premium version
Active vs. Passive Hearing Protection
❌ Passive: attenuates sound, but conversations, commands, and surroundings are often lost
✔ Active: reduces gun noise and allows speech and important ambient sounds to pass through in a controlled manner
This is a real safety advantage, especially at the shooting range, during training, and when hunting.
Instructor Tip: Adjust Volume Consciously
Don't turn the active sound to maximum just because you can.
Adjust it so that speech and surroundings sound natural. Too much amplification leads to quicker fatigue and unnecessary distraction.

Our Assessment
The Pro-X LED is the comfort-oriented Pro-X for users who work outdoors. The LED doesn't replace a powerful flashlight, but it solves small, real problems: a quick glance into a bag, checking a magazine, organizing equipment in a vehicle.
The gel seals are the second major point here. If you would upgrade to gel seals anyway, this version makes particular sense.
Not everyone needs the LED. If you only shoot at a well-lit indoor range, the regular Pro-X is often sufficient. For the field, hunting, outdoors, and long days, the LED version is significantly more practical.
Suitable For
-
Hunters: quick tasks at dusk and night
-
Sport Shooters: long sessions with maximum comfort
-
Instructors: when comfort, communication, and brief light use matter
-
Glasses Wearers: gel seals included as standard
Not suitable for:
- Users who don't need the LED and want to save money
- Helmet/radio setups requiring Nexus/PTT
Important Note
Hearing protection only works when fitted correctly. Hair, hats, glasses frames, helmet straps, or poorly fitting cushions can significantly reduce attenuation.
For indoor ranges, very loud calibers, or long training days, additional in-ear protection under the earmuffs is advisable. This does not replace safe range discipline.
Gel Seals, Glasses, and Sealing – Why It's Crucial
The best electronics are of little use if the hearing protection doesn't seal properly. Especially shooting glasses, safety glasses, or thin frames can quickly create a small gap between the cushions and the head.
-
Standard cushions: work, but press more quickly and are more sensitive to glasses frames.
-
Gel seals: adapt better to head shape and glasses frames.
-
Practical consequence: less sound leakage, fewer pressure points, longer wearing time.
-
Instructor note: after putting them on, feel around the cup – if a glasses frame visibly lifts the seal, you lose protective effect.
For glasses wearers and frequent shooters, gel seals are almost never just about comfort. They are often the difference between "it sort of fits" and truly effective sealing.
Features & Operation
-
Microphones: pick up ambient sounds, allowing you to better perceive direction, speech, and movement.
-
Level Limiting: electronic playback is limited so that loud impulses are not passed through uncontrollably.
-
Control Buttons: deliberately kept simple – volume and profiles must be manageable even with cold fingers or gloves.
-
Audio/Communication Port: AUX or Nexus depending on the model; always check compatibility with your system.

FAQ
Is the LED really useful?
Yes, if you're doing quick tasks in the field, on a vehicle, or in low light. For pure range use, it's less important.
Are gel seals included?
Yes, according to Sordin, the LED version is equipped with gel seals.
Does the LED replace a headlamp?
No. It's a practical work/orientation aid, not a full-fledged searchlight.
Does the Pro-X LED fit with glasses?
Yes, especially because of the gel seals. Nevertheless, the fit around the glasses frames must be checked.
When is the regular Pro-X preferable?
If you don't need the LED or want to intentionally keep costs down.
Especially with Sordin hearing protection, active hearing protection for the shooting range, and hearing protection for hunting, it's not just the attenuation value that matters, but whether the sealing, sound, and wearing comfort suit your application.
