Sordin Supreme Pro-X Slim – active hearing protection with slim cups
When hearing protection hits the stock, protection becomes a problem.
The Sordin Supreme Pro-X Slim is designed for users who work with long guns and want minimal cup contact with the stock.
The Slim version reduces the size at the crucial point. This makes aiming steadier, especially with shotguns, rifles, AR platforms, or dynamic long gun setups.
Why exactly this model?
✔ Slim cups for better weapon shouldering
✔ Active ambient sound amplification
✔ SNR approx. 26 dB according to available product/dealer specifications
✔ Sordin HEAR2™ audio system
✔ IP67 microphones / robust Pro-X platform according to manufacturer's logic
✔ AUX connection depending on version
✔ ARC adapter compatible Slim platform
✔ Colors for hunting, range, and signaling
Why this product?
The Slim isn't just "smaller." It solves the shouldering problem that many earmuffs cause with long guns.
- You can get a cleaner cheek weld on the stock
- You reduce interference contact between the cup and the weapon
- You maintain active perception and communication
- You can integrate it into helmet setups with Slim ARC adapters
- You get a good solution for hunting, the range, and dynamic training
Active hearing protection vs. passive hearing protection
❌ Passive: dampens, but conversations, commands, and surroundings are often lost
✔ Active: reduces gun noise and allows speech and important ambient sounds to pass through in a controlled manner
This is a real safety advantage, especially on the shooting range, during training, and when hunting.
Instructor Tip: Practice shouldering with hearing protection
Many shooters dry-fire without hearing protection and later wonder about shouldering problems.
Always practice shouldering, cheek weld, and target acquisition with the hearing protection you actually use. This is the only way to know if the cup is interfering.

Our assessment
The Pro-X Slim is the right choice if your main problem isn't maximum attenuation, but rather freedom of shouldering. This affects many long gun shooters.
The trade-off is logical: A slimmer cup has less volume than larger systems. For very noisy indoor ranges, double hearing protection may therefore be advisable.
For hunting, outdoor ranges, and dynamic long gun work, the Slim is extremely practical because it interferes less with the stock.
Suitable for
-
Long gun shooters: if cups interfere with the stock
-
Hunters: for rifles, shotguns, shooting ranges, and hunting grounds
-
Dynamic shooters: when shouldering and movement matter
-
Helmet users: if Slim ARC compatibility is important
Not suitable for:
- Users who prioritize maximum passive attenuation
- Pure handgun shooters who don't care about cup design
- Radio users with Nexus/PTT requirements
Important Note
Hearing protection is only effective when worn correctly. Hair, caps, spectacle temples, helmet straps, or poorly fitting cushions can significantly reduce attenuation performance.
For indoor ranges, very loud calibers, or long training days, additional in-ear protection under the earmuffs is advisable. This does not replace safe range discipline.
Gel cushions, glasses, and sealing – why this is crucial
Even the best electronics are of little use if the hearing protection doesn't seal properly. Especially shooting glasses, safety glasses, or thin temples can quickly create a small gap between the cushion and the head.
-
Standard cushions: work, but press more quickly and are more sensitive to spectacle temples.
-
Gel cushions: adapt better to head shape and spectacle temples.
-
Practical result: less sound leakage, fewer pressure points, longer wearing time.
-
Instructor's note: after putting them on, feel around the cup – if a spectacle temple visibly lifts the seal, you lose protective effectiveness.
For spectacle wearers and frequent shooters, gel cushions are almost never just about comfort. They are often the difference between "sort of fits" and truly effective sealing.
Features & Operation
-
Microphones: pick up ambient sounds, allowing you to better perceive direction, speech, and movements.
-
Level limitation: playback through the electronics is limited so that loud impulses are not passed through uncontrolled.
-
Control buttons: deliberately kept simple – volume and profiles must be manageable even with cold fingers or gloves.
-
Audio/communication connection: AUX or Nexus depending on the model; always check compatibility with your system.

FAQ
Why Slim instead of normal Pro-X?
Because the cups interfere less with long gun shouldering. That's the main reason for this version.
Does Slim offer less protection?
Slimmer cups have less volume. Attenuation is good, but double hearing protection may be advisable in very loud environments.
Does the Slim fit ARC rails?
With suitable Sordin ARC adapters, the Slim platform can be integrated into helmet setups.
Is Orange sensible?
For hunting, range supervision, or visibility, orange can be practical. For tactical/discreet use, black or green are more suitable.
Are gel cushions important?
Yes, for spectacle wearers and long wearing times. Check your variant and upgrade to gel if needed.
Especially with Sordin hearing protection, active hearing protection for the shooting range, and hearing protection for hunting, it's not just the attenuation value that matters, but whether sealing, sound, and wearing comfort suit your use.
