Unity Tactical FAST MRDS Mount – 2.26" Mount for Micro Red Dots
You want to use a small MRDS at FAST height without buying a completely different mount for each footprint.
The Unity Tactical FAST MRDS Mount raises compatible Micro Red Dot Sights to approximately 2.26" optical axis height using separate FAST Optic Adapter Plates.
This is particularly interesting for AR and carbine setups where an upright head position, quick dot acquisition, and accessory logic are important. The mount is not intended for Aimpoint Micro footprints, but for MRDS adapter plates such as RMR, DeltaPoint Pro, ACRO, 509T, RMSc, or Holosun K.
Important compatibility note:
The FAST MRDS Mount requires a suitable FAST Optic Adapter Plate. This adapter plate is required separately and must match the footprint of your optic.
Compatible footprints, depending on the adapter plate, include RMR, DeltaPoint Pro, ACRO, 509T, RMSc, and Holosun K.
The FAST MRDS Mount is not compatible with the FAST Optic Adapter Plate for Aimpoint Micro Footprint.
What makes the Unity Tactical FAST MRDS Mount practical:
✔ approx. 2.26" / 57.4 mm optical axis height
✔ for Micro Red Dot Sights via FAST Optic Adapter Plates
✔ Footprints depending on plate: RMR, DeltaPoint Pro, ACRO, 509T, RMSc, Holosun K
✔ not compatible with Aimpoint Micro adapter plate
✔ Standard 2-Cross-Bolt Rail Clamp for M1913/Picatinny
✔ compatible with optional FAST QD Lever
✔ compatible with FAST FTC Magnifier Mounts, except Leupold DeltaPoint Pro
✔ 7075-T6 aluminum with Type III Hardcoat finish
Why this product?
The benefit lies not only in the higher mount. Crucial is the combination of FAST height and modular adapter plate logic.
You can bring different MRDS footprints to a uniform FAST height using suitable adapter plates. This makes the mount particularly useful if your setup is not designed for a classic Aimpoint Micro format.
-
2.26" FAST Height: supports a more upright head position
-
Adapter Plate System: one mount concept for various MRDS footprints
-
M1913/Picatinny: suitable for AR15, AR10, and compatible rail systems
-
QD Retrofittable: optional FAST QD Lever possible
-
Magnifier Logic: usable with FAST FTC Magnifier Mounts, with the exception of Leupold DeltaPoint Pro
-
7075-T6 Aluminum: stable base for stressed optic mounting
Instructor Tip: Clarify footprint first, not just when mounting
MRDS is not a uniform mounting standard. RMR, ACRO, 509T, RMSc, Holosun K, and DeltaPoint Pro differ significantly.
First check the footprint of your optic, then the suitable FAST Optic Adapter Plate, and only then the mount. This way you avoid wrong purchases and unnecessary returns.
Our assessment
The Unity Tactical FAST MRDS Mount is a clean solution for users who want to use a compact MRDS at modern FAST height. It is particularly strong if you deliberately work with a small dot optic, but still want an upright head position as with other FAST setups.
The clear distinction is important: This is not an Aimpoint Micro mount. Anyone who wants to mount an Aimpoint T-2, H-2, or compatible Micro Red Dot needs a different FAST mount. This mount plays to its strengths with RMR, ACRO, 509T, RMSc, Holosun K, or DeltaPoint Pro setups.
Useful for:
- AR15 and AR10 platforms with M1913/Picatinny rail
- Micro Red Dot Sights with suitable FAST adapter plate
- RMR, ACRO, 509T, RMSc, Holosun K, and DeltaPoint Pro setups
- dynamic shooting and carbine training
- use with helmet, hearing protection, protective mask, or plate carrier
- users who want to use a uniform FAST height in their setup
Less useful for:
- Aimpoint Micro Footprint via FAST Micro Adapter Plate
- users without a suitable FAST Optic Adapter Plate
- classic low co-witness setups
- setups where minimal overall height is more important than head position
- users who do not want to train the increased close-range offset
FAST MRDS or FAST Micro Mount?
✔ FAST MRDS: for MRDS footprints via adapter plates such as RMR, ACRO, 509T, RMSc, Holosun K or DeltaPoint Pro
✔ FAST Micro Mount: for Aimpoint Micro compatible optics such as T-2/H-2 or similar Micro footprints
The name sounds similar, but the interface is what matters. Always check the footprint of your optic before purchasing.
Co-Witness and FAST Height Explained Simply
Many classic red dot mounts are based on Absolute Co-Witness or Lower 1/3 Co-Witness. The Unity FAST line goes higher.
-
Absolute Co-Witness: Red Dot and iron sights are approximately in line
-
Lower 1/3 Co-Witness: the iron sights are in the lower third of the field of view
-
FAST 2.26": significantly higher line for a more upright head position and better use with equipment
The advantage: You don't have to get as low behind the optic. The disadvantage: At short distances, the mechanical offset increases. You need to train for this.
Practical Tip: Document Close-Range Offset
Don't just zero your setup at 50 or 100 m. Also check at 5, 10, and 15 m.
With a high optical line, the point of impact at short distances is significantly lower than the dot. Mark your holdovers and consciously train them.
Application Scenarios
-
Carbine / AR: compact MRDS at modern FAST height
-
Dynamic Training: faster dot acquisition with a more upright head position
-
Helmet / Hearing Protection: less need to tuck low behind the optic
-
Protective Mask / Plate Carrier: better usability with restricted head position
-
NVG / Night Vision: higher sight line can facilitate use with night vision goggles
-
Magnifier Setup: compatible with FAST FTC Magnifier Mounts, except for Leupold DeltaPoint Pro
