Vector Optics SCRD-SM64 Frenzy-X FLEX 1x19x26 MRS GenII Solar Multi-Reticle – practically classified
When speed is more important than maximum magnification, a red dot is the right solution.
The Vector Optics SCRD-SM64 Frenzy-X FLEX 1x19x26 MRS GenII Solar Multi-Reticle is designed for fast target acquisition, both eyes open, and short to medium distances – ideal for training, the range, and hunting applications requiring quick aiming.
Vector Optics doesn't provide a government-duty solution here, but a very usable civilian budget to mid-range optic with strong utility.
Why this product?
✔ Fast target acquisition with 1x aiming picture
✔ Ideal for short to medium distances
✔ Footprint and mounting height must match the setup
✔ Excellent for training, range, driven hunt-like scenarios, and dynamic exercises
Key Features
- Fast target acquisition with 1x aiming picture
- Ideal for short to medium distances
- Footprint and mounting height must match the setup
- Excellent for training, range, driven hunt-like scenarios, and dynamic exercises
- Better for speed than for ultimate long-range precision
- Good price-performance ratio for civilian use
Our Assessment
Our assessment: A red dot is strong when you don't want to spend a long time looking through the glass. Dot on target, control your stance, release cleanly. This class is designed precisely for that. However, it's important to remember: the sight is only as good as its mounting. Footprint, height, and firearm must match.
Instructor Tip: Don't "search" for the red dot.
Train your stance so that the dot automatically appears in the window. If you have to search for the dot, your head position, mounting height, or shooting routine is usually incorrect.
Who is it suitable for?
Suitable for: Suitable for sport shooters, hunters, and dynamic training users who prioritize speed and easy target acquisition.
Not suitable for: Not suitable for long-range precision shots, maximum magnification, or uncompromising law enforcement/duty requirements.
Features & Operation
- Use both eyes open to see the surroundings and target simultaneously
- Adjust brightness as low as possible and as high as necessary
- Always check point of impact after mounting
- For pistol or offset mounts, carefully check the footprint

Scope of Delivery
- Our assessment – from an instructor's & user's perspective
- From a training perspective, what is particularly convincing about this model is the clear operating logic: multi-reticle for different priorities
- (precise dot vs. fast circle) and a motion sensor that keeps the sight "ready for use" without constantly having to think about switching it off.
- The important thing here is: more functions only help if you use them consciously – if you want it as simple as possible, you often stick to the dot permanently.
- For practical use, the reticle size is tangible: 3 MOA covers approx. 8.7 cm at 100 m (approx. 4.4 cm at 50 m,
- approx. 2.2 cm at 25 m). The 1 MOA click adjustment corresponds to approx. 2.9 cm at 100 m
- (approx. 1.45 cm at 50 m, approx. 0.73 cm at 25 m) – this allows you to easily follow corrections without getting lost in "mini-clicks".
- If you are looking for an optic that remains compact but appears robust in changing light conditions and everyday use, this is a very coherent setup.
Note:
Before use, always check compatibility, mounting, secure fit, and function. For optics or point-of-impact relevant parts, always fire a control series after each mounting. Vector Optics is a strong budget to mid-range solution for civilian applications – do not classify it as uncompromising law enforcement/duty equipment.
FAQ
What is this red dot for?
For fast target acquisition at short to medium distances – ideal for training, range, dynamic exercises, and hunting situations requiring quick target acquisition.
What is the most important mounting point?
Footprint and mounting height must match. An incorrect adapter leads to poor head position or lack of compatibility.
Is a red dot precise enough?
Yes, for its purpose. A red dot is fast, but no substitute for a rifle scope if you want to precisely engage small targets at a distance.
Why use both eyes open?
This allows you to keep both the surroundings and the target in view simultaneously. This is precisely the advantage over magnifying optics.
Who is it not suitable for?
Not for users who expect maximum long-range precision, military duty-level robustness, or optical magnification.
Especially with Vector Optics, the correct classification determines the benefit: choose not by data sheet alone, but by intended use, mounting, target distance, and real-world application.
